As a fan of all things dealing with the drumming world, I must admit that I’ve found the Chinese gong to be one of the most influential instruments in all of my collection and expertise. It’s without a doubt one of the more fun instruments to play, according to all of my drummer buddies and percussion friends. They all swear by it, and it’s unique properties. Something about it, they say, seems to draw all people into whatever music you are playing. Perhaps it is its ancient history, or perhaps the sound waves created by it are just pleasing to the ear. Either way it is extremely unique and very well loved by all.
