Watch out for western Iowa deer
The western Iowa tourism region is defined more by activity than county borders. A lot of the activity surrounds deer hunting and deer don’t pay attention to borders. Let me tell you, from all the accidents I’ve seen I know that deer are not afraid to cross the road. Even a fawn can cause some major damage and a full grown buck can total out a vehicle. Every Iowan that drives the roads at dusk during the rut knows that you need to keep your eyes open and don’t try to predict anything a buck will do when he is out chasing after a doe.
