Caterpillar to Butterfly?
Recently I ran into an old friend and was stunned at the change in her. She was wearing designer clothes, makeup, a wedding ring, and was carrying a briefcase.
When we had known each other in high school, she had been uninterested in her looks, clothes, a career, or dating. Although very bright, she’d spent most of her time with a group of counter-culture kids who felt that caring about anything was “selling out to the establishment”.
When we saw each other, she told me that she’d simply gotten up one day and had had enough. Not long after that she did some Internet research and was struck by the medical transcription job outlook. After two years of training, she began a home-based business, bought a house, and married (literally) the “boy next door”.
Now who would have seen all that coming?
