Distance Limit Of CAT5 Cables
Most CAT5 cables have a distance limit of about 100 meters. This is the cat5 distance to having an effective signal strength without lag. Any distance further will cause considerable lag time and may even prevent the signal from reaching one end of the connection. Therefore, in order to get maximum response, a CAT5 cable should be laid out within 75 meters to connect one network device to another network device.
