West Coast Hip Hop Artist
Busting into the scene in the mid 80’s, the west coast hip hop artist has since created this unique sub-genre of hip hop. The founding fathers of the west coast hip hop artist include Ice-T and N.W.A..
Not only has west coast hip hop staked it’s fame firmly in the hip hop world, but it has even created it own sub-genres itself. Gangsta rap is one product of west coast hip hop. Other early influences was the birth of electro-rap, a combination of funk and hard bass. This of course was the precursor of "g-funk".
While the west coast hip hop artist seems to have less mainstream popularity these days, he (or she) is surely here to stay. We can only imagine the turns it has for us in the future.
